Privacy policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
AvMap operates avmap.app. This policy explains how information is handled when you visit the website or use the route mapper. Contact info@avmap.app with privacy questions or requests.
Information used by the app
You can use the current app without an account. Airport searches, route calculations, and map entries are processed in your browser. AvMap does not currently provide server-side saved maps, mailing-list sign-ups, or a separate analytics service.
Shared map URLs contain the airport codes, routes, ranges, and display settings included in the link. Anyone with a link can view those entries. URLs may also appear in browser history and service request logs; do not put confidential information in them. Shared images are generated in your browser and are downloaded or sent using your device's sharing feature.
Browser storage
AvMap uses local storage to remember your interface appearance and whether you completed the introduction. These values stay in your browser until you change them or clear the site's storage. Google services may also use cookies, local storage, or other identifiers for consent and advertising, subject to applicable requirements and your choices.
Hosting, maps, fonts, and weather
Vercel hosts the site. Website requests can disclose your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time to the hosting service for delivery, security, and troubleshooting.
Your browser requests map tiles and map fonts from OpenFreeMap and interface fonts from Google Fonts. These providers receive technical request information, including your IP address; map tile requests also identify the map areas being displayed.
Opening airport details sends the selected airport's ICAO code and coordinates to AvMap's weather endpoint. That endpoint requests weather from NOAA Aviation Weather Center or Open-Meteo. These are airport coordinates, not your device's location. The app does not request access to your device's precise location.
Google advertising and consent
AvMap uses Google AdSense and Google's Privacy & messaging service. The Google account script is installed on the site; manual ad placements are not currently enabled. Google and its advertising partners may receive technical information and use cookies or identifiers to provide advertising, measure performance, prevent fraud, and remember privacy choices. Personalized advertising may use information about visits to this and other websites, subject to consent and applicable law.
Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's advertising information. You can also manage Google advertising preferences through My Ad Center.
Your privacy choices
Google's published consent messages provide region-specific choices. Where applicable, use the European consent message to accept, refuse, or adjust consent. Use Google's “Do not sell or share my personal information” link to manage US state advertising opt-outs. Such advertising disclosures may be treated as a sale or sharing under some US state laws.
Waiting for Google's privacy settings. If they are unavailable, contact info@avmap.app.
You can clear cookies and site storage through your browser settings. This resets locally stored preferences and may cause consent messages to appear again. Browser cookie controls and Google advertising preferences do not necessarily replace a site-specific consent or opt-out choice.
Retention, providers, and international processing
Browser preferences remain until cleared. Information sent by email is used to respond to your request. Hosting, consent, and advertising providers have their own retention practices; their processing may occur outside your country. Consult their privacy information for details, including Vercel's policy and Google's policy.
Privacy requests and changes
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, withdraw consent, object to processing, or opt out of certain advertising uses. Send requests to info@avmap.app. Where applicable, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
This policy describes the current website. We will update it when information practices change, including before enabling manual ad units or introducing accounts and saved maps.
